Cheetahs V Ulster (21-08-18)

We’re drawing nearer to Cheetahs V Ulster in round 4 of the Pro14, we’ve got a squad update for you. Keep checking back here for more updates as we get them.

It’s all change

Some first starts for this Ulster side. Eric O’Sullivan (prop) and Angus Kernohan (winger) have been included in the starting lineup to take on the Cheetahs. They are just two out of six changes from our last game in Port Elizabeth. Wiehahn Herbst joins O’Sullivan in the front row. Rob Herring continues to captain the side and will have to keep an eye on our discipline for this round.

Not everyone will play

John Cooney is out due to a head injury which will be a big loss. It will be interesting to see how we play in his absence though, especially with the loss of his kicking abilities. Dave Shanahan will take his place, it will certainly be interesting to see how the Scrum-half performs. Rory Best is still out with his hamstring injury but is hoping to make it back to the limelight (no pun) for the Connacht game.

The bulldozer

Marcell Coetzee is moving to number 8, following an impressive display from the Springbok against the Southern Kings. A great player and we look forward to seeing even more of his skill this round.

There has been a lot of change this round, combine this with the five-day turnover and we could be in trouble. However, let’s hope fate will be kind to us!
